The Good Shepherd Portrait

This cherry wood carving depicts the Good Shepherd which is an analogy used by Jesus to his disciples many times. He used it in order to convey the depth of his love for them and his relationship to them. A good shepherd would lay down his life for his sheep to protect them from the wolves.
